The Green Recovery Plan

The Prime Minister has given a commitment to provide more than 250,000+ jobs as part of his 10-point Green Revolution plan and as part of his leveling up agenda. The Government has promised a £12 billion investment to create and support highly skilled green recovery jobs in the UK.

As a region, the West Midlands is perfectly placed to take full advantage of the Green Industrial Revolution and recovery plan. This is to include future employment and skills in building electric cars, installing electric charging points, fitting smart meters and heat pumps to public and private properties and installation of solar power.

Jason Challoner, President of Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the SSESB, has been asked by Chris Pincher, MP for Tamworth, to compile a report on the benefits and challenges of this initiative for the region.

Mr. Pincher serves as Minister of State for Housing. Therefore Jason is particularly interested in discussions with House Builders that are looking to install new or retrofit green technology, such as heat pumps, on properties across the West Midlands.

Therefore, if you have any advice or strong views on the proposed Green Recovery Plan Jason would be very interested in receiving your feedback by email
