Construction Gateway – VALYOU is 1 of 6 Approved recruitment agencies operating the Construction Gateway Project across the West Midlands. We are actively involved with Birmingham City Council and Approved Training Partners to offer employment to recently qualified workers with (CITB) CSCS & CPCS cards.
Other initiatives include female-only courses for both HS2 and Women into Construction. As a result, all ladies obtained CSCS and H&S and have done 4 weeks of work experience with HS2 and will be looking for paid employment within the Construction Industry.
GBSLEP – Our Managing Director is the Chairman of the SSESB (South Staffs Employment & Skills Board). The Board meet quarterly and includes members from business, training providers and education, such as the Education Manager for HS2. The Board is an extension to the GBSLEP (Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership) with a mission is to create jobs, grow the economy and increase aspirations & opportunities for Greater Birmingham. As a result, our M.D. is personally involved in Employment & Skills initiatives.
Employment Ambassador – Uniquely, ValYou is based within a college location. With the associated links to SSESB, our M.D. undertakes a voluntary role as Employment Ambassador (EA) for the college. This is to promote work experience, Apprenticeships and employment for young adults. In addition, the role promotes best practices across the EA network.
Apprenticeships – As part of our college partnership, ValYou commit to offering students work experience opportunities within our business. This helps the students to gain confidence, enhance their IT skills and prepare for the world of work. From our work experience program, we guarantee to employ at least one Apprentice per year, leading to full employment following their course completion.
We partner with Performance Through People (PTP) to deliver our Apprenticeships in Business Administration Level 2. PTP is actively involved with the Midlands Engine Government Program promoting the Midlands as a powerhouse region for economic growth.
Winner – Medium Employer of the Year: Chase Terrace Academy. CTA needed to reduce the level of NEET students & improve post-16 & 18 career options. CTA recruited their apprentices in business administration & partnered with ValYou Recruitment as an on-site employer.
Walsall Works Silver Award – ValYou has secured the Walsall Works Silver Award from Walsall MBC after working closely with Walsall College to find employment opportunities for Construction Gateway candidates. The award recognised our activities and initiatives for promoting Skills for the Future / Diversity & Inclusivity / Thriving Communities within the local communities.
Armed Forces Covenant – We have been awarded bronze status from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), demonstrating our promise to those who have served in our armed forces. This extends to the individuals and their families, ensuring they are treated fairly. Furthermore, we have a MOD National Account Manager with MOD90 & Security Clearance, enabling us to conduct interviews on armed forces bases and promote our recruitment business to people leaving the services. Our objective is to achieve Silver and then Gold awards.
